we recently had a crash with one of our systems. Right after takeoff a EKF Yaw alignment caused the yaw angle to have a huge offset and cause the drone to fly into the wrong direction ( GPS guided Mission flight)
We looked at our log files and found that the X-Axis of the Compass module had a lot of noise.
Going back to previous flights we noticed that the issue started much earlier and got worse and worse over time. The System had in total maybe 10 flight hours, the hardware has not been used previously.
Do you have an idea what causes this, and how to prevent it ? - currently it seems to me that this is an Hardware failure, the question is if this a single bad device or if there is a flaw in the design.
